In the summer of 2014, the city of Baltimore was grappling with a surge in violence. It was against this tense backdrop that the life of 38-year-old Tyree Woodson, an African-American man, came to a sudden and controversial end. On August 5th, members of the Baltimore Police Department's Warrant Apprehension Task Force took Woodson into custody and transported him to the Southwestern District Police Station. Not long after his arrival, a single gunshot echoed from a bathroom within the station.
