On a cold Monday evening, February 2, 2009, the life of 16-year-old Duane Sheldon Hopkins Jr. was tragically cut short in Temple Hills, Maryland. The young man, a sophomore at Suitland High School, was found the next morning, around 7 a.m., lying in the yard of a home on Gaither Street, just a few blocks from his own residence on 20th Place.
