A holiday visit to New Orleans ended in tragedy for 38-year-old Robert Smith, who was fatally shot on the morning of December 26, 2016. Smith, the brother of former NFL player Courtney Smith, was in town to celebrate Christmas with his family. The festive occasion turned into a scene of sorrow when he was discovered with a single gunshot wound in the front yard of a residence in the 7900 block of Lamb Street in New Orleans East.
