Robert Williams, a 20-year-old from Queens, NY, tragically lost his life on January 1, 2021, in a shooting incident outside the Umbrella Hotel in Kew Gardens, Queens. The incident occurred shortly after midnight, just a day before Williams' 21st birthday. He and his friends were staying at the hotel to celebrate the New Year when an argument in the lobby escalated into violence. Williams was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
