In the summer of 2015, the body of 59-year-old John Tallant, a male, was discovered underneath the I-12 overpass in the 1900 block of O'Neal Lane in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a member of the local homeless community.
An autopsy later revealed the grim circumstances of his death; Mr. Tallant had sustained blunt force trauma, leading authorities to classify his death as a homicide. The investigation into his murder was announced by the Baton Rouge Police Department.
