Charles A. Davis, a 38-year-old police officer with the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on December 21, 1996. Officer Davis was working an off-duty security job at a check-cashing store on Astoria Boulevard in the East Elmhurst section of Queens when he was ambushed by armed suspects.
