Lieutenant Federico Narvaez, a dedicated officer of the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on October 18, 1996, at the age of 40. Narvaez, who had served with the NYPD for 17 years, was known for his commitment to patrolling the streets alongside his fellow officers. On the night of his death, Narvaez was flagged down by a woman who reported that she was being stalked. Responding to her plea for help, Narvaez called for backup and approached the suspect, Harvey Richardson.
