In the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans, on the evening of January 4, 2015, Walter Ray Jackson, a 34-year-old male, was found shot to death inside his black Toyota. The vehicle was located in the 2800 block of Palmyra Street around 10:00 p.m. Jackson had just left a friend whom he had driven home after they had been at a bar on Second and Dryades streets.
