Man found lying in roadway In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the life of Derrick Alexander, a 35-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short. On August 8, 2012, shortly before 9:00 p.m., police responded to a call of shots fired in the 5300 block of Ritterman Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered Alexander lying in the street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He had already succumbed to his injuries by the time authorities reached the scene.
