Enrique Sebastian Falcon, a ten-year-old boy from La Puente, California, tragically lost his life on May 17, 2020. On that fateful evening, Enrique, known affectionately by his middle name, was a passenger in the back seat of a car driven by his mother and her boyfriend. As they traveled southbound on Hacienda Boulevard, a black sedan pulled alongside their vehicle. The boyfriend, noticing the other car's headlights were off, signaled for them to turn them on.
Both vehicles continued driving, but as they approached the intersection with Amar Road, a male inside the black sedan fired a single shot from a handgun into Enrique's vehicle. The bullet struck Enrique on the right side of his torso.
Despite his mother's immediate call to 911 and the life-saving measures administered by deputies from the Industry Sheriff's Station, Enrique succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital later that night. The suspect vehicle fled the scene, and the shooter was described as a bald Hispanic male, aged between 20 and 25 years. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Enrique's death. This reward was secured by the city of La Puente and the Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis' Office.
The investigation into Enrique's murder has been ongoing, with authorities making public pleas for information. During a press conference at the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau offices, Enrique's family, holding one of his favorite toys, asked for justice and assistance from the community. The possibility that the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident has not been ruled out by investigators. Despite the reward and the efforts of law enforcement, no arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large. The community and Enrique's family continue to seek closure and justice for the senseless loss of such a young life.
