Roberto Rivera, a 48-year-old resident of Union City, was tragically killed on May 4, 2020, in Los Altos, California. Rivera was working as a mason in the backyard of a home on Highlands Circle when he was shot multiple times. The incident marked the first homicide in Los Altos since 1994. Rivera was found by police officers slumped over on his knees with gunshot wounds to his back and head. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
