The devastating event occurred in the parking lot of Crunch Fitness at Coddingtown Mall. Paula was fatally shot by her estranged husband, Tomas Zamora-Martinez, who then took his own life shortly after the attack. The couple had been married for 27 years but had recently separated, living in different family residences.
