Andres Moctezuma Jr., a 49-year-old Latino, was tragically shot on December 16, 2018, in the Vermont Square neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. when Moctezuma was found by police beside his bicycle outside a dollar store on South Vermont Avenue. He had been shot in the forehead and was immediately taken to a hospital. Despite medical efforts, Moctezuma succumbed to his injuries the following day, December 17, 2018, at 9:52 a.m.
