Millard Frazier Jr., a 22-year-old man from Bellflower, California, tragically lost his life on February 1, 2018. The incident occurred in the 17200 block of Balfern Avenue during a backyard barbecue. According to reports, Frazier got into an argument with another attendee, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, the other individual pulled out a gun and shot Frazier in the torso. The shooting caused panic among the attendees, leading many to flee the scene.
Despite the chaos, investigators were able to gather information that identified the suspect.
The suspect, identified as Dion Antwon Trotter, a 23-year-old man from Compton, was arrested later that evening on suspicion of murder. Trotter was subsequently charged with murder on February 9, 2018. His arraignment was initially scheduled for March 9, 2018, but it was later continued to March 23, 2018, at the Los Angeles County Superior Court’s Norwalk Courthouse. The case drew significant attention, and authorities urged anyone with additional information to come forward, offering anonymity through Crime Stoppers.
