On July 19, 2017, Robert Hopkins Jr., a 43-year-old resident of Bethel Island, was tragically killed in Pittsburg, California. The incident occurred outside a Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor on Century Boulevard. Hopkins was walking his bike past a couple, Larry Darryl Neal Jr. and his then-pregnant girlfriend, who were seated at an outside table.
