In the spring of 2010, the life of Mario Clavo, a 24-year-old Black or African American male, was tragically cut short in New Orleans. On the afternoon of Thursday, March 18, 2010, gunshots echoed near the intersection of Lombard and Touro streets. When the violence ceased, Clavo had been fatally wounded. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m., a time when the neighborhood would have been going about its daily rhythms, now disrupted by a sudden and fatal act.
