Joaquin Byrd, an 18-year-old high school student from Oakland, California, tragically lost his life on February 4, 2017. Byrd was fatally shot in the early hours of the morning in the 4200 block of MacArthur Boulevard. Police officers responding to the scene found Byrd suffering from gunshot wounds and attempted to provide medical assistance until emergency medical services arrived.
