Julio Alberto Diaz-Castro, a 40-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on December 4, 2016, in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood of Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, the incident occurred shortly before midnight on December 3, 2016. Diaz-Castro was inside a liquor store located in the 700 block of West Gage Avenue when a Latino male entered and opened fire. As Diaz-Castro attempted to flee, additional shots were fired, causing him to collapse just outside the store.
