Edgar Villacorta, a 24-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on March 20, 2016, near South Hoover Street and West 41st Place in the Vermont Square neighborhood of Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records and authorities, the incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. when residents in the area reported hearing gunshots. Upon arrival, officers found Villacorta lying in the street. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
