While his friend went to a convenience store, Galvan stayed at the bus stop, preparing to head to his night shift at a warehouse in Compton.
It was at this bus stop, located near East 220th Street and Avalon Boulevard, that a man approached Galvan. After a brief struggle, the assailant pulled out a gun and shot Galvan in the head. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Galvan was pronounced dead the following evening at 11 p.m.
