Jose Raul Herrera, a 59-year-old resident of Ontario, California, died on May 10, 2014, following an officer-involved shooting. The incident occurred late at night when police responded to a medical aid call at Herrera's residence on Placer Street. According to reports, Herrera was intoxicated and allegedly armed with a weapon when officers arrived. The situation escalated quickly, leading one of the officers to open fire, resulting in Herrera's death at the scene.
