Matthew Sims, a 42-year-old man from Los Angeles, was tragically shot and killed on April 9, 2014. The incident occurred in the 500 block of West 76th Street in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Sims was in an alley around 6:45 p.m. when he was approached by one or two individuals. An exchange of words ensued, followed by multiple gunshots, as reported by witnesses. Sims was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:57 p.m.
