On March 12, 2004, in Fresno, California, four-year-old Ethan St. Laurent Wesson was among nine victims tragically murdered in what became known as the worst mass murder in Fresno's history. The perpetrator, Marcus Wesson, was both Ethan's father and grandfather, having fathered children through incestuous relationships with his daughters and nieces. The victims, ranging from one to 25 years old, were found in a back room of Wesson's home, each fatally shot through the eye.
