Matthew Michael Pavelka, a 26-year-old police officer with the Burbank Police Department, tragically lost his life on November 15, 2003, in Burbank, California. Officer Pavelka was fatally shot while assisting another officer during a routine investigation of a suspicious vehicle at the Ramada Inn on San Fernando Boulevard.
