John A. Vickers, a 30-year-old officer with the El Centro Police Department, tragically lost his life on May 3, 1977. Officer Vickers and his colleague, Officer Arthur Hennesay, were responding to a seemingly routine call about a stuck car horn in a motel parking lot. Upon arrival, they were ambushed.
