In the spring of 2016, the life of 19-year-old Markee Liykim Brown was tragically cut short in Baltimore, Maryland. On April 19th, he was found in the 4000 block of Wilsby Avenue, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities responded to the scene, but Brown succumbed to his injuries. At the time of his death, he was an African-American male. His death was one of many instances of gun violence that plagued the city that year, contributing to the growing number of young lives lost.
