On March 30, 2021, Dquaz Davis, a 19-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in front of a home located at 1227 Fargo Street South in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The incident occurred around 3:49 p.m. when Davis approached a car in which 19-year-old Ajay Alvarez was sitting. According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Alvarez opened fire on Davis, resulting in his death. Davis was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
