Damon Rothermel, a 50-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on January 31, 2019, in Jacksonville, Florida. Rothermel was riding his bicycle on Emerson Street near St. Augustine Road when he was struck by a stray bullet during a shootout between individuals in two cars. The incident occurred while he was running an errand for his mother, returning from Walmart. Despite efforts by bystanders to perform CPR, Rothermel succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
