Shelwanda Riley, a 26-year-old African American woman, was found dead on July 29, 2018, in Fort Pierce, Florida. Her body was discovered by relatives at a home in the 400 block of North 28th Street. Riley, who was last seen alive two days prior, had been shot, and her death was initially investigated as a suspicious incident. The Fort Pierce police later ruled her death a homicide.
