Rogerio Anjos, a 34-year-old resident of Fort Myers, Florida, tragically lost his life on April 1, 2017, in a shooting incident outside Scarlett's Cabaret, a local gentleman's club. Anjos, who was also known as DJ Roger Brazil, was leaving the club with a friend when they became involved in a verbal altercation with three men in the parking lot. Kahleel Jacques Perez, a 21-year-old resident of Fort Myers, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with Anjos' death. Perez was found guilty of the charge in October 2018 and faced a possible life sentence. The conviction brought some measure of justice to Anjos' family and friends, who were left devastated by his untimely death.
Anjos was remembered by his friends and community as a hardworking and talented individual. He was the president of his own painting and contracting company, known for his high-quality work on commercial and high-end residential projects.
