On August 5, 2016, Brandon Hayes Hammett, a 36-year-old white male, was found dead in Jay, Florida. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Chumuckla Highway. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Brandon Hayes Hammett and Stacy Marie Williams, a 33-year-old white female, both with severe gunshot wounds. Hammett was pronounced dead at the scene, while Williams was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
