Jerrell Billy Tomlin, a 26-year-old resident of New Port Richey, Florida, tragically lost his life on September 19, 2015. On that fateful morning, around 7:45 a.m., New Port Richey Police Department officers responded to a call reporting shots fired at the Magnuson Hotel located at 5015 U.S. Highway 19. Upon arrival, officers discovered Tomlin's lifeless body outside one of the hotel rooms.
He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation identified Jerrell Rayshawn Marcus, a 23-year-old, as a person of interest. However, after further inquiry, Marcus was ruled out as a suspect. Despite extensive efforts by the New Port Richey Police Department's homicide detectives, the case remains unsolved. Detectives continue to follow up on leads, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The community and law enforcement have not given up hope in seeking justice for Jerrell Billy Tomlin. Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay has offered a reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the perpetrator(s). The case remains open, with detectives diligently working to uncover new evidence and bring closure to Tomlin's family and friends.
