Jocelyn Fleurimond, a 53-year-old Black male, was tragically shot and killed on October 10, 2014, in Delray Beach, Florida. The incident occurred in the 900 block of Auburn Circle East, where Fleurimond was involved in a confrontation with two individuals, Brandon Small and Harry Dachoute. The altercation took place during a drug deal at an apartment complex. Fleurimond, who was a stranger to Small and Dachoute, reportedly attempted to rob Dachoute in the parking lot.
During the struggle, Small intervened and fatally shot Fleurimond.
Following the incident, legal proceedings ensued. In December 2016, Harry Dachoute pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and being a felon in possession of a handgun. He was subsequently sentenced to five years in prison. Meanwhile, Brandon Small faced trial for his involvement in the shooting. In April 2017, while the jury was deliberating his fate, Small opted to plead guilty to manslaughter. As a result, he received a 15-year prison sentence.
