This argument was reportedly over Moreland's alleged involvement in the murder of Johnson's cousin, a crime for which Moreland had been acquitted in 2009.
Three months after Johnson's death, Tommy Moreland Jr. was arrested and charged with his murder. The case went to trial, and in February 2017, Moreland was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. The trial revealed that the argument between Johnson and Moreland's girlfriend had escalated, leading to the fatal shooting.
