On April 23, 1987, Emad Mohamiad Al-Tawakuly, an 18-year-old Kuwaiti student, was tragically killed in a shooting spree in Palm Bay, Florida. Emad, along with his friend Nabil Abdul Al-Hameli, 25, was exiting a Publix grocery store when they were shot by William Bryan Cruse Jr., a 59-year-old man who had embarked on a violent rampage.
