On September 16, 2022, a domestic argument between Raymond G. Johnson Jr., a 56-year-old Caucasian male from Adairsville, Georgia, and his stepson escalated into a fatal roadside confrontation. The dispute began at their residence in Calhoun and continued as the two men drove away in separate vehicles. Johnson was followed by his 31-year-old stepson, Rocky James Fair.
The chase came to a tragic end on Buttrum Road in Adairsville, where both men exited their vehicles and exchanged gunfire.
