In the predawn hours of Labor Day, September 5, 2022, a night of socializing turned to tragedy in the parking lot of Jack's Bar & Grille in Hartwell, Georgia. Gunfire suddenly erupted, shattering the early morning calm and leaving a scene of chaos and violence. When the shooting ceased, two men lay dead, and at least two other individuals were wounded. One of the deceased was 24-year-old Joseph Tyrone Johnson of Royston, formerly of Bowman, Georgia.
