In the spring of 2022, a promising life was tragically cut short on a street in northwest Atlanta. Corey Blount Jr., a 21-year-old male from Hampton, was found with a fatal gunshot wound on the evening of Saturday, April 30, 2022. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. in the 530 block of Sunset Avenue. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Blount, who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
