On a Saturday night in early March, the vibrant atmosphere of the Atlanta Fair was shattered by an eruption of violence that claimed the life of 16-year-old Joshua Adetunja. The male teenager, a freshman at Creekside High School, was fatally shot on March 5, 2022, following a dispute that escalated into gunfire near the intersection of Pryor and Bass streets in southwest Atlanta. Two other teenagers, aged 14 and 19, were also wounded in the shooting but were expected to survive their injuries.
