In the late-night hours of August 10, 2021, the life of 27-year-old Zerrick Monson was tragically cut short on a sidewalk in southwest Atlanta. Responding to a call just after midnight, police discovered Monson's body on Old Hapeville Road. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head, and his body was left in the roadway.
