In the early morning hours of July 25, 2021, a large block party on James Jackson Parkway in Atlanta, Georgia, turned tragic, leading to the death of 38-year-old Gabriel Parker. Parker, a Black father, was in attendance at the gathering, which was a reunion for former residents of the Bowen Homes public housing project, when gunfire erupted.
