In the early morning hours of a Monday in October 2020, the life of 59-year-old Deborah Houston was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence in southwest Atlanta. A female, she had been standing outside the Family Food Mart on Atlanta Avenue and Hank Aaron Drive around 5:25 a.m. when a silver SUV drove by and unleashed a spray of bullets. Struck in the head, Houston was found unresponsive by police and pronounced dead at the scene.
