In the fading afternoon light of September 29, 2020, a burst of gunfire shattered the ordinary quiet outside a Pak N Go convenience store on Olive Road in Augusta, Georgia. When the chaos subsided, 20-year-old Keyeon Demmons, a Black male, was found inside a 2006 Honda Civic, having been shot at least once. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
