In the fall of 2020, the life of 18-year-old Lamontavius Williams, a Black male, was cut short by violence on a southwest Atlanta street. On the evening of September 15th, police were called to the 500 block of Cleveland Avenue SW, where they found Williams with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The young man's death marked the 98th homicide in the city of Atlanta that year.
