In the early morning hours of September 6, 2020, a birthday party in Sparta, Georgia, turned into a scene of violence, resulting in the death of 33-year-old Sabreal Metae Taylor, a Black / African American male. The celebration, attended by a large crowd, was shattered around 2 a.m. by the sound of at least 20 gunshots. When the chaos subsided, Taylor was found deceased at the scene, having been shot in the head and shoulder. Six other individuals were also wounded in the shooting.
