In the evening hours of a Saturday in mid-May of 2020, events tragically unfolded for a 32-year-old male from Atlanta, Georgia. Tavoris Gates was on Peyton Place in the southwestern part of the city when he was shot in the chest. Police were called to the scene at approximately 7 p.m. for a report of a person shot.
