In the quiet neighborhood of North Macon, the evening of January 20, 2020, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Outside a home at 771 Oak Hill Court, a resident discovered a man lying on the front lawn, having been shot multiple times. The victim was identified as 37-year-old Michael Alvin Lewis of Macon. Despite the quick response of neighbors who called 911, Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene. This tragic event marked the first homicide of the year in Macon-Bibb County.
