Christopher Donald Smith, a 16-year-old Black male from the Landover area, was found late on the night of February 6, 2012, in New Carrollton, Maryland. A passerby noticed a body along a wooded edge near the 5300 block of 85th Avenue and called 911 around 10:45 p.m.; responding officers located him near a sediment pond with an apparent gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
