In the spring of 2019, the life of 18-year-old Keshawn Maurice Jackson, a Black male, was abruptly cut short in Macon, Georgia. On the evening of Monday, May 6, 2019, deputies responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of Briarcliff Road and Boulevard. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jackson unresponsive in the driver's seat of his Toyota Corolla, having sustained a single gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
