In the early morning hours of April 1, 2019, the life of 19-year-old Jamelle Brightwell, a male from Bogart, Georgia, was tragically cut short. Gunfire erupted at the Bethel Midtown Village Housing Complex in Athens, and when police responded to calls of shots fired just before 6 a.m., they discovered Brightwell unresponsive.
